Time for a Change

Hello all you lovely people! I have some exciting, yet bittersweet news to share with you all… but first! LOOK! I’m blogging!! Hahaha!  I believe I’ve had my blog-site for at least a year now, and this is my first official blog post, yay! I guess for the first time in my photography career, I actually know what I want to do… as far as the direction I want to go with my photography. Which leads me to my big news. As of the end of July, I will no longer be operating from Studio Blue. I still love, admire, and respect the ladies of Studio Blue very much, and will miss getting to hang and talk photo with them as often.  And don’t get me wrong, the building was totally amazing! …but having a studio space just isn’t in the cards for me right now.

So. As sad as I was to walk away from such an amazing opportunity, I know that this will push me to do more of what is really in my heart… natural light and lifestyle sessions.  I don’t want to only capture the posed and smiling shots, I want it all! The laughs, the cries, the funny faces, the love, the life, the REAL you!  I want to photograph you in a place where you feel comfortable and able to be yourself. And I want to challenge myself with natural light, and find new and beautiful ways to express my art.

I’m not much of a writer, so i’ll keep this short. Just know that I am very much looking forward to this new adventure, and can’t wait to see what God has planned for me!

…and because every post is better with a photo,

Here is my sweet baby girl, who is now 6 months! (This also happens to be the last session I shot at Studio Blue)

Ha! Don’t you just love that humongous bow!

Welcome! {Athens Alabama Photographer}

Here at Dana Baker Photography, I strive to make your photo session a carefree, fun experience that will bring out the best in you!  This results in photographs that are unique and personal. I choose settings that have meaning for you, so I can convey who you are and what you love in an heirloom that will be cherished forever.  I believe that a portrait should be more than a photograph – it should capture the essence of you and what makes you special.  I have a passion for photography, and I hope my work shows my love for what I do.

    Dana just so happens to be one of my best friends so you could consider me a little biased. But she has been taking my daughters pictures since she was born,and anyone who knows my daughter can attest to the fact that she does not cooperate, ever. Even in her new born pictures she was wide awake instead of asleep like most babies. And she has continued to be just as stubborn over the years. I can count on one hand the number of decent pictures we have been able to take of her ourselves. And its not for lack of trying. But every time Dana has taken her picture she manages to capture a perfect picture so we can remember and cherish all her little milestones forever. And its not for lack of trying on my daughters part to make it as hard on Dana as possible. She just still manages to get good ones anyway. So thank you Dana for our only good pictures of our daughter :)ReplyCancel
